During this shooting, another citizen was also severely injured.
An informed source confirmed this news to Kurdpa, stating: On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, "Yousef Mamehpour", a 30-year-old Kurdish citizen from the village of "Vardeh" in the district of the city of Sardasht, was targeted by military forces while transferring livestock to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and lost his life after a live bullet struck his kidney area and exited through his back.
As a result of the barrage of gunfire by military forces, another citizen was also severely injured.
Yousef Mamehpour, son of Ebrahim, was married and the father of a young son.
The direct shooting by military forces at Yousef Mamehpour, an unarmed citizen and livestock farmer, while transferring livestock at the "Bardeh Sian" border constitutes an arbitrary deprivation of the right to life and an unlawful and disproportionate use of lethal force, for which state forces and responsible institutions bear full liability. The government is obligated to protect citizens' right to life, refrain from using lethal force against unarmed individuals, and investigate and provide accountability for deaths resulting from gunfire by its forces in such cases.
