August 18, 2026; Following widespread public support and empathy shown to his family and to the spirit of Jhina, after offensive remarks made by a member of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Parliament, Amjad Amini, the father of Jhina-Mahsa Amini, published a message expressing his gratitude to the people. He called this empathy priceless under the current difficult economic and living conditions and emphasized that nothing aids human beings as much as "empathy" and "kindness."

The verbatim text of Amjad Amini's message:

"Our elders have said that to sustain life, human beings need 'empathy' in addition to bread and water. We are grateful to the Almighty that in an era when tables are smaller, hands are emptier, and economic and livelihood concerns are greater than ever, our people remain generous and open-handed in expressing 'empathy.'

What occurred over the past two days soothed our hearts and acted like water on the fire of a wound that will never fully heal. These events were a manifestation of the height of affection and empathy from the people—from the warmth and empathy of our dear fellow citizens in the streets to the kind messages from compatriots on social media whom we have never met. We deeply believe that this wave of affection and empathy has also brought peace and joy to Jhina's soul.

Hoping for the day when all economic difficulties depart from this country and we continuously witness this endless generosity in affection and empathy. Undoubtedly, in these days, nothing aids us as much as 'kindness.'

Amjad Amini

Father of the late Jhina (Mahsa) Amini"

August 16, 2026; The family of Jhina-Mahsa Amini—including Amjad Amini, Mojgan Eftekhari, and Ashkan Amini (her father, mother, and brother)—condemned recent statements made by Ahmad Aryai-Nezhad, a conservative member of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Parliament, who had said: "Did you see Mahsa Amini went to hell? And the country faced the consequences of riots for eight months." In a post shared on their Instagram pages, Jhina's family addressed these remarks. Pointing to Jhina's legacy of freedom and liberation for Kurdistan and Iran, they called the profanity and language used by this state official an insult to Jhina, her family, and all the people of Kurdistan and Iran, emphasizing: "May your tongue be severed, for you have sent an entire country to hell and possess no share of reason, wisdom, or shame," as the country, its youth, and their future burn due to decisions made by individuals like him. In conclusion, Jhina's family stressed that their daughter's name, alongside the names of thousands of other innocent people, will remain immortalized in the history of Iran forever.

One day after the publication of the Amini family's message and the widespread public reaction and support, Ahmad Aryai-Nezhad, the conservative MP of the Islamic Republic's Parliament, published a video issuing an apology.

September 16, 2022; Jhina-Mahsa Amini, 22 years old and from Saqqez, lost her life at Kasra Hospital in Tehran after falling into a coma as a result of severe physical assault by Guidance Patrol (Gasht-e Ershad) forces.

Her state murder triggered widespread protests across Iran and led to the formation of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" (Woman, Life, Freedom) uprising—a movement that resonated significantly worldwide. Although the popular protests faced systematic and broad government suppression over months, leaving hundreds killed and injured, the people's freedom movement entered a new phase, making the movement initiated in Jhina's name one of the most important turning points in the civil and freedom struggles of the Iranian people in recent years.
