On Sunday, October 11, 2026, Shoresh Aboubakri, a well-known Kurdish artist from Sardasht widely recognized by his moniker "Shoresawar," was arrested following his appearance at the Sardasht Prosecutor's Office by order of the city's prosecutor.

According to an informed source who spoke to Kurdpa, in recent days, security agencies affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had repeatedly threatened and summoned Shoresh Aboubakri via telephone calls. On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the artist went to the Sardasht Prosecutor's Office accompanied by his defense attorney, Osman Mozayyane, to address the summons and file a formal complaint, whereupon he was placed under arrest by order of the prosecutor.

The informed source added: "According to statements by the artist's family, his lawyer formally submitted documentation detailing unlawful actions during his complaint to the Sardasht Prosecutor."

As of the publication of this report, the official pretexts for his arrest, the charges against him, and his current detention location remain unknown.

Mr. Aboubakri is a prominent producer, host, tar musician, and singer from Sardasht active in literature and the arts. He previously operated a music academy named "Avaye Kurd" in Sardasht, the official permit for which was revoked several years ago.

On Thursday, February 1, 2024, the artist was temporarily released from a security detention center in Urmia on a bail of 500 million Tomans pending final trial proceedings.

On Thursday, February 29, 2024, the court hearing for Shoresh Aboubakri was held at Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Sardasht, presided over by Judge Rahmat Esmaeili, where he was acquitted of the charge of "propaganda against the state."
