Without lawyer, a young Kurdish sentenced to five-year imprisonmentKurdistan press Agency (Kurdpa): the third branch of Urmia Revolutionary Court sentenced a young Kurdish man to five-year imprisonment.

According to reports received by our agency, a Kurdish youth, Eghbal Ahmadpour, son of Mohammad, from Anbeh village in the city of Urmia, was received a five-year prison sentence in his trial held at the third branch of Urmia Revolutionary Court on October, 4, 2018.

Having been charged with “acting against national security through membership in a Kurdish opposition group”, Eghbal was convicted without having access to a lawyer.

Eghbal was arrested by the Iranian Intelligence Service in Urmia on September 11th after which he had been under interrogation in solitary confinement for 12 days.
